SELSAR is a non-profit organization comprised of hundreds of governmental agencies, private industry, and civilian volunteers, dedicated to providing swift, effective response to the emergency needs of the citizens of Southeast Louisiana and beyond.

Although initially conceived as a resource for Southeast Louisiana, SELSAR adheres to no boundaries, and will often respond to other parts of the country requesting aid.

SELSAR Medical/Trauma Center

Utilizing a vast resource of equipment and specialists in all areas of Search and Rescue, SELSAR is able to respond quickly to almost any need, ranging from hazardous material incidents, lost boaters or hunters, to plane and train crashes.

Many people are familiar with our Emergency Medical Center which offers free medical attention to many fair and festival patrons at various functions throughout the year.
